TOWNSVILLE’S fashion designers of tomorrow could be taking their first couture-clad steps to success thanks to one of the country’s leading teaching institutes.

Whitehouse Institute of Design Australia has been in the business for 25 years and boasts former students going on to be selected for Project Runway Australia with some having gone on to work for prestigious labels such as Chanel, Burberry London and Vivienne Westwood.

Emerging designers in the Carmichael Motors Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival and anyone else interested are invited to take part in an information session at the Holiday Inn on October 26.

Aspiring designers Tayla Josey and Rhiannon Hall will be among those taking part and competing for one of three scholarships to be awarded to talented designers from the Northern Queensland region.
